PATCH BACKINGS

There are several backings that can be applied to patches of every type

First is the ever popular 'Plastic Backing".  Plastic, when applied to the back of a sew-on patch during its manufacture, helps to keep the embroidered thread ends in place and extends the life of the patch.  A Plastic backing is virtually transparent and is fused to the back of a patch creating a firmer, superior product.  Usually, Plastic backing is an extra which adds about 2 cents per inch to the cost of a patch, but, as a bonus, aapatches.com is now putting plastic onto every patch FREE of charge.  This freebee applies not only to new orders, but repeat orders as well.  We know you'll love it!

Next is the Heat-Seal Backing.  Instead of sewing a patch on, this remarkable backing allows a patch to be 'ironed' onto a garment or accessories such as jackets, caps or bags.  Please note that once ironed on, a Heat-Seal patch cannot be easily removed so care should be taken to correctly place the patch in the position you want it to be in before applying.  Adding a Heat-Seal backing to a standard merrow bordered patch costs 4 cents per inch per patch.

Lastly is the Self-Adhesive backing which is comprised of a special adhesive which is extremely strong. This backing is highly versatile and can be applied to almost any material.  Adding a Self-Adhesive backing to a standard merrow bordered patch costs 8 cents per inch per patch.  For even greater adhesion, Self-Adhesive patches can also be 'ironed' after application (see instructions for applying patches that have a Heat-Seal backing).  Please note that once applied a Self-Adhesive backed patch cannot be removed, so care should be taken to correctly place the patch in the position you want it to be in before removing its protective backing and applying.

No responsibility by either aapatches.com or Parker Flags & Pennants, Inc., is accepted for any damage or consequential loss of any description that may result from the above procedures.
